I’ve been going to this waterfall since before I could walk. I used to be strapped to one of my parents and now, 22 years later, it’s still one of my favorite waterfalls. In Gorges State Park, you hike for about an hour until you get to the first fall, Rainbow Falls. The hike is not too bad, definitely some uphill and downhill stretches. Here you can swim in the pool, get misted on the rocks, and if you’re lucky, run into some locals who can show you the cliff jumping spot! It is a pretty sketchy cliff jumping spot, so I wouldn’t do it if you aren’t confident in your climbing skills!

On the same trail as Rainbow Falls, if you keep hiking along the trail for another 5-10 minutes, you’ll make it to Turtle Back. I call this the “lunch spot” where I like to picnic! You can also slide off this waterfall and climb up underneath it. There is a little cliff jumping spot here, but I would be careful because there are shallow spots in the pool. There are usually a good amount of people on this trail, so I would try and go early in the day or in the afternoon! Sometimes the parking lot fills up around mid day and they won’t let you enter the state park; maybe call ahead of time before making the drive!
This is one of my favorite waterfalls! It is perfect for a picnic and mid-day adventure! It is a pretty populated waterfall, so don’t expect to be there by yourself. There is a hidden trail that does get pretty steep so be careful, but it only takes about 5-10 min to get down to the bottom where you can enjoy a swim, climb up underneath the waterfall, and go for a little creek walk!

My absolute fav waterfall in New Zealand! The only time of year I’ve been there is in March/April and there haven’t been too many people. You’re either alone or with a few others. It is so magical and probably takes about 20-30 minutes to get down via staircase- 261 stairs to be exact!
Such a fun little 2-mile trek, I went a little bit before sundown and spent about an hour at the actual falls! I walked back as it got dark and only one other person was at the waterfall for a brief moment. It is a nice walk passing thermal pools!

One of my fav waterfalls in Switzerland! It is literally not even a 3-minute walk from the side of the road. There’s a fun little 30-minute adventure- you can climb up and get misted, hide away in the cave, or swim in the pools underneath! I’ve only ever gone in July and there are typically only 0-5 other people there!
This waterfall is absolutely stunning! I only went in February, in the midst of winter so it had this super cool foggy, eerie vibe to it. It was 28° but I still decided to do a quick mist rain shower. There were a 1-2 other people there but not for the whole time, so it mainly just felt like you were by yourself! I don’t know what it would be like mid-summer, but I can imagine it is unbelievable! Also, the trail has some cool extension bridges and spooky forests. The whole trail took maybe an hour or two total!
This is probably one of my favorite spots on the entire planet, and for sure my favorite waterfall in Iceland! it is soooo insanely beautiful and only a 5-10 minute stroll from the parking lot. Barely any people there were here when I came. If you go in October, I would go around sunset, and if you go in June (when it’s 24 hours of daylight) I would go at midnight because everyone will be asleep! It still looks like daytime and you will be 100% alone! This isn’t a waterfall you can swim in, but you can stroll around underneath it!
I can’t disclose the name or location of this one! But, this waterfall was magical, you could feel the energy here!
this is a secret waterfall in maui, i went on my 22nd birthday and had such a special few hours there with noah. i did my first ever black flip here and the pools around it are just magical.
